Can My Boss Insist On Me Being Vaccinated?

Can My Boss Insist On Me Being Vaccinated?

One of the most important issues today, for all employees, in including those of domestic and household staff is “Can my boss  insist on me being being vaccinated?”

The answer it appears, is Yes and No!

Justice Secretary, Robert Buckland has said that it may be legal for employers to insist on new staff being vaccinated as a condition of their employment. In other words, if you are applying for a new job, then your potential new employer can build in being vaccinated as a condition of your new Contract of Employment.

However, although the situation has yet to be tested in a tribunal  it seems unlikely that any boss could make an existing employee have vaccines under their current contracts.

A spokesperson for Downing Street has further explained that it would be “discriminatory” to order people to be vaccinated to keep their job.

We will keep you informed of future developments.
