Does The New Vaccine Requirement For Care Staff Include Me?

Does The New Vaccine Requirement For Care Staff Include Me?

Unfortunately there is no clear answer to this question at the time of writing.

The issue is still an area of concern for staff who provide care for their elderly or infirm employers/clients who continue to live in their own homes.

This has been a worry for employees providing such care since compulsory vaccination requirement for front line health and care workers was first discussed.

For staff in these categories in England the situation is clear, they must have had their first Covid-19 jab by 3 Feb to ensure they’re fully vaccinated when new regulations come into force on 1 April.

Failure to provide official evidence of vaccination or exemption will lead to redeployment or dismissal.

There has still been no clear information as to whether care staff who provide care for employees/clients who continue to live in their home are included or exempt from this regulation. We will update you if this situation changes.

The Graham Agency, working with you.
