There has been considerable publicity recently about the stress of work on women and how many more are engaging household domestic staff like yourself as an answer. But what about the stress of that responsibility on yourself?
After all, you are often shouldering the workload of assisting to run a home. Cooking and cleaning, childcare, laundry, running errands, looking after children, acting as a companion for an elderly person, many of these tasks will be your responsibility.
It may well be that from time to time, you do feel the stress, but the best recommendation to counter this is to discuss it. It can be with colleagues and friends, but don’t forget you can discuss it with your employer.
Sometimes it helps just to talk. You will not be thought less of for doing so.
