New  Immigration Rules Now Apply

New  Immigration Rules Now Apply

From January  1st most foreign nationals, including those from the European Union, who want to work in the UK will have to apply online for a visa.

Those hoping to obtain a skilled worker visa will need to meet three criteria.

  1. A job offer,
  2. To be proficient in English
  3. Earn at least £25,600, per-tax.

Those already working in the UK, should have already applied for  Pre Settled Status or Settled Status.

The EU Settlement scheme is open until June 30th 2021, Applicants usually (there exceptions relating to family members) need to have already been residing in the UK by 31st December 2020.

The changes came into effect on December 31st  as the UK ended it’s transition period. Free movement from and to the EU came to an end on that date

The UK left the EU on 31 January 2020 but has been largely following its rules during the subsequent 11-month transition period, as the two sides negotiated the new agreement

The government has announced it is setting up a new Border Operations Centre, which it says will ensure round-the-clock surveillance of goods and passengers coming in and out of British ports for the first time.

The Graham Agency, working with you.
