BENEFITS IN KIND MARCH 2016

There are some changes to how benefits in kind can be processed for HMRC which may be of interest to some employers of domestic and household staff.

To do so for the 2016-2017 tax year, you will have to register before April 6^th.

From an operational standpoint, HMRC basic payroll software package will however not support this processing and you will need to either change the software you use, or notify the organisation you use for payroll of your intentions and wishes in this respect.

As always, when legalities and tax issues are concerned, our advice is to speak to an appropriate expert in that area before taking any action.
