Getting help from HMRC
If you are an employer, of domestic staff, for instance, then sometimes the mere mention of HM Revenue and Customs can send a shiver down the spine. However, a new service provided by this organisation falls very definitely in the “Very Helpful” category.
They are offering web-based learning courses which on the face of it sound very useful whether you are new to being an employer or an experienced employer.
The courses are aimed at helping employers keep up-to-date with the latest guidance as it relates to HMRC issues such as choosing the right payroll package or how to proceed when an employee is off sick.
Recent courses in late 2014 have included: Getting started as an employer, Using basic PAYE tools (for nine or fewer employees) and PAYE expenses and benefits.
