Housekeepers May Be Affected By Government’s Consultation On Employer-provided Living Accommodation.

Employers providing accommodation for Housekeepers and Household staff will have to await the outcome of a forthcoming government consultation to assess possible tax implications.

The intention to launch the consultation was announced by the Chancellor in the recent Spring Budget. Although a date has not been announced, the consultation will examine and take evidence on the tax treatment of provided living accommodation, including proposals for when it should be exempt from tax.
