If I lose My Job Before 31st Dec. 2020 Does It Affect My Right To Stay In The UK?

If I lose My Job Before 31st Dec. 2020 Does It Affect My Right To Stay In The UK?

This is an important question for many domestic and household staff job seekers who hold EU passports.

Many are worried about leaving secure employment now to take a new job but are subsequently  dismissed before 31st December 2020. What then happens to my right to stay in the UK is a question we are hearing at The Graham Agency.

The short answer, according to information from the UK government and Citizens’ Advice Bureau is that it would  NOT affect your right to stay, unless there is a criminal reason for your dismissal.

If you are convicted of some crimes, you can lose the right to stay.

It may well be, therefore, that if you intend to change jobs, now is the best time to make that move.

All information above should be taken as a guide to the current  UK government position and does not constitute legal advice.

The Graham Agency, working with you.
