Major Changes For EU Citizens Visiting The UK Post-Brexit
There will be new rules for EU citizens visiting the UK post-Brexit if they are given approval by parliament.
It is envisaged that visitors will need to give at least three days’ notice before arriving in the UK and have had to fill in an on-line form – the Electronic Travel Authorisation in addition to bringing their passport.
If this is implemented without the new visa waiver, for which there will be a charge, would-be visitors it is anticipated will be turned back at the airport or port.
The shift will mean that EU citizens will no longer be allowed to travel to the UK on national identity cards. It is anticipated that the EU will be likely to reciprocate and introduce a similar scheme in 2021.
