Mass Exodus From Care Work
A startling new set of statistics on the mass exodus of care home staff has added new impetus to our specialised service of providing care in their homes for the elderly.
Job vacancy rates across care services hit 10 per cent in March 2022, compared with 5.9 per cent in March 2021, according to figures from Skills For Care, commissioned by the Department of Health.
A recent survey by the National Care Forum, which represents leading social care organisations, found that 43% of care homes are not taking new admissions and that 66% people who provide care at home are having to refuse new requests.
Research carried out by The Times newspaper has discovered that 410,000 care staff quit last year. Vacancies in the care sector have almost doubled in the last year resulting in a shortage of staff of about 160,000.
Increasingly, The Graham Agency has accrued a reputation for providing carers for elderly clients who prefer to remain in their own home rather than move into residential care.
We can provide a carer with experience of meeting the needs of the elderly at acceptable costs with the benefits of staying in their own home.
