The answer is A HOUSEKEEPER…Now what was the question?
A recent study has shown the number of childminders in England has fallen by 10.000 in the last five years. According to one source (Labour Party) there are now 23,000 less childcare places provided by childminders in England, with costs rocketing by 27% since 2010.
The situation has been worsened by the failure of the government’s Childminder agencies scheme heralded as a one-stop-shop for parents.
However there is a realistic alternative, which probably does not readily come to mind.
At The Graham Agency, we have been providing housekeepers as well as other domestic and household staff for close to 30 years, For many families a housekeeper who, as part of their duties can look after the children, has been the answer.
We have candidates with a whole range of skills and experience, and take great pride in the personal way in which we match candidates with client families.
It appears the issue of childcare is going to become even more difficult, not easier in the near future. Figures in Ofsted’s annual report show that just five agencies are registered with Ofsted, and to date none have childminders signed up to them.
