The National Living Wage – are you paid enough?
As a member of domestic or household staff you may well have read news items recently about the Living Wage and wondered what exactly it is. Perhaps you wonder if you should be paid it? Are your friends being paid it?
The Living Wage is NOT the compulsory National Minimum Wage set by the UK government in 1998 and currently ^.70 per hour for those aged 21 and over. The Living Wage, promoted by the Living Wage Foundation, is currently £7.85 an hour and £9.15 in London. It is not compulsory for employers to pay it.
To add to the confusion, George Osborne, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, announced the introduction of a National Living Wage in his budget speech in July 2015, to be implemented by the UK government from April 2016.

Common sense says that if you want to be paid a rewarding rate, come and talk to us. We have close to 30 years experience of ensuring that our candidates are placed in client homes where they are appreciated and remunerated accordingly.
