10 Mar Removing the worry: your own carer in later life
Domestic staff carers can provide the answer to care in your later life.
It all depends on which side one listens to, the government or those tasked with trying to ensure adult social care services receive the funding they need.
On the one hand, the Chancellor says measures in his Spending Review will lead to a rise in care budgets; on the other hand, one agency which works with older people says that the system of social care is effectively being dismantled. Another agency has said the future of adult social care looks bleak.
With increasing concern about the closure of care homes, as a result of the government’s spending review plans and the introduction of the National Living Wage which will affect care home costs, the future is uncertain.
But one thing is clear: if you are able and willing to control your own destiny in later years, there are alternatives which can take you out of the equation and relieve you of any associated worries.
How is this?
By employing your own carer, either live-in or live-out on a daily help basis. In addition to one-on-one care, you remain in your own home, with all its familiarity and comforts, stay in your own area with all of your friends. There is no risk of a care home, that you have carefully chosen, closing with all of that associated upheaval.
Admittedly, it’s not always the answer which most readily comes to mind, and one of the reasons is that it can seem a difficult route to follow.
However, nothing could be further from the truth!
The easy route to achieving such independence is to use the services of a reputable, experienced domestic staff recruitment agency. At The Graham Agency we have been providing just such services for close to 30 years, carefully matching the needs of our clients with the particular skills and personalities of carers. It’s a very personal service for a very personal issue. Talk to us.
