Statutory Payments – Your New Entitlements

Statutory Payments – Your New Entitlements

Everyone has to budget and balance their own finances so it helps to know what you are entitled to under certain circumstances.

These are called Statutory Payments  from the government when certain things happen in your life.

Figures have just been announced by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) for 2022-2023 relating to the following:

Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP) and Statutory Adoption Pay (SAP), Statutory Paternity Pay (SPP), Statutory Shared Parental Pay (ShPP) and Statutory Parental Bereavement Pay (SPBP). Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) have also been announced.

NEW FIGURES

The first six weeks of Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP) and Statutory Adoption Pay (SAP) remain the same, at 90% of the employee’s average weekly earnings (AWE). The statutory weekly rate for all weeks after this will be the lower of 90% of AWE or £156.66.

Statutory Paternity Pay (SPP), Statutory Shared Parental Pay (ShPP) and Statutory Parental Bereavement Pay (SPBP) will all share the same weekly rate of £156.66 or 90% of AWE, whichever is lower.
